Assignment #1

Choose one character from any of the plays we have read.  In focused paras in two pages, discuss that character's importance to the play she or he inhabits.  You can focus on the character's importance to the plot, to stage impact, to theme, to any element of the play you wish, but each para must have a topic sentence and must be focused.  This is an exercise in thinking about how character affects the impact a play as on the audience as well as in focused analytical writing.
